One Down, Three More to Go!
The
first quarter of my fourth year in junior high is coming to an end; I can’t
believe it’s already been two months, and we’re about to embark on a new
quarter full of excitement and trials. Within those two months, I learned a lot
and gained new knowledge and information on topics such as the internet. I have
learned about its history and how it dates back to the early 1960s, how the
network evolved into what we now know as the internet, and the people behind
its development and success and their contributions. And I also got to learn
about the Internet Browser and the World Wide Web.
One thing I enjoyed most in our ICT class was blogging. I always wanted to start a blog, but I didn't know where and how to start. The subject ICT taught me how to blog properly, how to use multimedia, how to cite a source, and I was able to apply what I learned in my ICT 9 (which is netiquette) when I am commenting on the blogs of others. It also allowed me to express and share my ideas, feelings, and opinions on a particular topic. Being able to write is liberating for me, despite the numerous hurdles that come with it.
Problems
and difficulties are unavoidable in life, studies, and almost everything. There
will be challenges along the way, and I, for one, am no exception and have had
my fair share of struggles. Rather than becoming discouraged, I view it as a
challenge and motivation to improve. It was easier to adjust this time around
than it was last year, but the workload is still overwhelmingly ceaseless to
the point of exhaustion and may have a detrimental effect on our health. ICT
itself isn’t difficult on its own, but adding four other subjects to the list
of things to do and accomplish within the allotted time is a different issue.
It is also because I have a life outside my academic responsibilities; I'm
unable to attend to all of them at the same time, and one must be compromised,
which is, unfortunately, my sleep. Sometimes, I struggle to come up with a
title and content for my blog, and I often find myself staring at the blank
screen of my laptop; my thoughts are all over the
place, and I can't seem to find the right words for it. I knew it wouldn’t be
easy–it never has been–and I try not to be pessimistic, but some days aren't
ideal. I guess that's life, overcoming the difficulties we face each day.
Moving on, I will continue to get by each day with a smile on my face, carry the lessons I have gained this quarter, and strive to do my best until the very last. I may encounter obstacles and fail occasionally, but that will not deter me from persevering because failure is a part of success.
